Aisha Raheel, a legally blind individual, commenced a class action lawsuit against a medical and dental center. The complaint, alleging violations of ADA Title III, the New York State Human Rights Law, and New York City Human Rights Law, was lodged in the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, on October 6, 2024. The core of the dispute centers on the digital platform's alleged inaccessibility to visually impaired users, hindering their ability to independently access critical services and information.

These included the absence of a crucial "skip to content" link, preventing users from bypassing repetitive elements, along with an inaccurately structured landmark system on the homepage. Furthermore, numerous images displayed no alternative text, form fields lacked sufficient labeling, and essential alerts, like those for invalid data entry or mandatory fields, were not conveyed to assistive technologies. The website's design was also criticized for requiring mouse interaction for transactions, effectively creating a barrier for blind users.
